![]() ![]() For combat run throughs you will definitely want the Typhoon aug, get that and the armour along with the strength augs that improve stability so you can make the most of guns like the Heavy Rifle along with the other accuracy augs and focus your augs. If you pick a spot and camp it the AI tends to bunch all the enemies up where they can all get shots off, which sounds good for grenades or AoE weapons but also means as soon as you pop out they will all start blasting you and Jensen will die in seconds. Play it more like a cover based shooter like Mass Effect or Gears of War when you play a combat play through, remember to reposition too. Even with the sub dermal armour and other augmentations he cannot take much damage, those upgrades only help Jensen scale as the game gets harder rather than provide extra durability. The enemies are pretty accurate if you are out in the open and can bring a huge weight of fire to bear if you give them a chance, Jensen is pretty weak too with a low amount of HP. You have to use cover, you cannot really run and gun in the open like many FPS games and for combat its more of a "quietly and quickly take enemies down and not attract a swarm" shooter than a "bring on the dakka!" style shooter. Save for bosses, any encounter in the game can be stealthed, even on a pacifist playthrough. Use available augmentations when in a pinch. When using silenced weapons, make sure the target you're about to take out can't be seen by other enemies. When sneaking past, keep tabs on where all the enemies are and adjust your route accordingly. Try to find the optimal route past them, or better, look for a way to avoid the encounter altogether. Take some time to observe the enemy before you try to sneak past them. Be methodical and precise.īut generally, you'll want to avoid direct confrontations. Do not Rambo, you'll get chewed up in seconds. Try to maintain some distance from the enemy. ![]() ![]() Stay in cover, only popping out to quickly take down a single enemy and then go back into cover. The numbers of praxis kits necessary to activate Adam Jensen's augmentations have been changed (Basically most augmentations now require more praxis kits to be enabled so at the end of the game, the player will be more specialized). If then enemy hasn't noticed you yet, use that opportunity to quickly take at least one of them down before they can properly respond. The Health Regeneration upgrade is now disabled by default but it can be enabled with Praxis kits after Koller resets Jensen's system (So, after the Dubai intro). The radar HUD doesn't display the targets anymore : It only displays the environment and the objectives locations. The Stealth Avatar augmentation is now disabled by defaut so if the player is detected and manages to hide himself, there will be no image of his last known position displayed on his field of view. unless of course, he activates this augmentation (Like the 2 others augmentations above, following Jensen's visit to Koller). The Rebreather augmentation now doesn't consume energy at all (So it is just like in Deus Ex Human Revolution). Now when this augmentation is enabled, the player can stay indefinitively in an area where there is gas : He isn't limited by his level of energy). Augmentations like TESLA, FOCUS and Cloaking which made the game very easy have been nerfed. Takedowns are more complicated to do but they use no energy at all now. Also, it isn't possible anymore to remain invisible when doing a takedown (melee attack). ![]() The chaff upgrade now doesn't delay the grenades and mines too much (so it is an useful upgrade and not a nuisance anymore). Jensen's overheating system has now a bigger impact in the main campaign as every upgrades of the experimental augmentations add +50 to the overclocking. ![]()
